MUMBAI: While celebrating two decades on Indian television, Bigg Boss Hindi is gearing up for its landmark 20th season with a refreshed identity and a renewed promise of high-voltage entertainment as the makers claim. The reality show’s Hindi edition has completed 20 uninterrupted seasons over the last 20 years and this is reasons enough for celebration, said the makers.
The makers have officially announced the upcoming season by unveiling an all-new version of the show’s iconic eye logo, signaling the beginning of the countdown to one of India’s most-watched reality television franchises.
The redesigned eye, synonymous with the Bigg Boss brand since its inception, has been reimagined to reflect the evolution of the show over the past 20 years. According to the creators, the new visual identity represents the Bigg Boss house as a gateway into the lives of contestants, where emotions, relationships, rivalries and personal transformations unfold under constant surveillance.
The vibrant colour palette used in the new logo symbolises the ever-changing dynamics inside the house. From friendships and alliances to betrayals and unexpected twists, the design aims to capture the unpredictable nature of the competition. Complementing the colourful artwork is a metallic gold wordmark, giving the logo a premium and cinematic appearance while highlighting the significance of the milestone season.
The contestants are also likely to be a special mix this year to signify the importance of the 20th season.
The launch of the new branding has generated considerable excitement among fans, many of whom have followed the reality series since its debut. Over the years, Bigg Boss Hindi has become a cultural phenomenon, producing memorable contestants, controversial moments and record-breaking television ratings while adapting to changing audience preferences.
Industry reports suggest that the upcoming edition is expected to return to its traditional broadcast schedule, with the show likely to premiere during the second half of the year. While an official launch date is yet to be announced, preparations for the season are said to be progressing rapidly.
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan will to return as the host, continuing a long association with the franchise that has become one of the defining aspects of his television career. His presence has played a significant role in the show’s popularity, with audiences looking forward to his weekend interactions with contestants and his trademark blend of humour, criticism and guidance in the episode which is normally termed as “Weekend ka Vaar“.
Media reports have indicated that Salman Khan is expected to begin filming promotional material and episodes for the new season in late September, although the production team has not officially confirmed the schedule. The actor is currently balancing his commitments to an upcoming action film directed by Vamsi Paidipally, in which he stars alongside actress Nayanthara. Sources close to the production say efforts are being made to coordinate filming schedules for both projects in which Bigg Boss takes up a lot of the actor’s time.
Meanwhile, the casting process for Bigg Boss 20 is reportedly in full swing. The makers are believed to be in discussions with several well-known television personalities and reality show participants as they finalise the contestant lineup. There is also speculation that a few former Bigg Boss contestants could make a return, adding a nostalgic element to the anniversary edition.
With the refreshed branding now unveiled and anticipation steadily building, viewers can expect more announcements regarding the format, contestant roster and premiere date in the coming weeks. As Bigg Boss prepares to enter its third decade, the milestone season promises to blend the franchise’s signature drama with fresh surprises designed to keep audiences engaged throughout its latest chapter.
