“Shilpa Shinde will do anything to win Lock Upp, even cry ‘r*pe’,” alleges Gehana Vasisth

MUMBAI: Actress Gehana Vasisth has launched a fresh attack on fellow television star and Lock Upp contestant Shilpa Shinde, accusing her of using controversy and sensational allegations to stay in the spotlight.

Gehana’s latest remarks come amid the ongoing buzz surrounding Netflix’s Lock Upp, where Shilpa has emerged as one of the most talked-about contestants due to her outspoken personality and repeated clashes inside the reality show.

Speaking about Shilpa’s gameplay, Gehana alleged that the actress is prepared to go to any extent to remain relevant and win the competition. “Shilpa Shinde will do anything to win Lock Upp. Every time there is a problem, she cries rape or harassment. This has become her pattern,” Gehana claimed, adding that it’s a habit for Shilpa Shinde to “cry wolf” to get noticed in the media.

The remarks have surfaced at a time when Shilpa Shinde has once again been making headlines for discussing the controversy surrounding her exit from Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain. During recent episodes of Lock Upp, Shilpa revisited the legal dispute involving producer Sanjay Kohli and spoke about the circumstances that led to the filing of a sexual harassment complaint years ago. She has also spoken about an alleged fake MMS blackmail episode that she says she faced after leaving the television show and she even said she had to obtain bail for the same.

Shilpa has previously acknowledged that the sexual harassment complaint she filed against producer Sanjay Kohli was false, saying she took the step as part of a larger legal and professional battle. The admission has generated widespread debate on social media as well as inside the Lock Upp house, with several contestants questioning her credibility.

Capitalising on the controversy, Gehana Vasisth alleged that Shilpa’s past conduct raises serious questions about her current claims and behaviour inside the reality show. According to Gehana, false allegations not only damage the reputation of the accused but also weaken genuine cases of harassment faced by women.

“People who make false accusations for publicity hurt the credibility of real victims. Such actions make society question women who genuinely seek justice,” Gehana said, urging viewers to distinguish between entertainment and serious legal allegations and not to believe anything that Shilpa Shinde says.

Shilpa has remained one of the most polarising contestants on Lock Upp. Her confrontations with fellow participants, including comments directed at contestant Shivangi Joshi, have triggered criticism from viewers and celebrities alike. Several television personalities have publicly condemned personal remarks made on the show, arguing that reality television should not encourage character assassination for entertainment.

Despite the criticism, Shilpa continues to dominate conversations surrounding the reality series. Supporters argue that she remains fearless and speaks her mind, while critics accuse her of deliberately creating controversies to remain at the centre of attention.

As Gehana Vasisth’s allegations circulate online, Shilpa Shinde or her team has not publicly responded to these latest comments. The actress has consistently defended her actions in recent interviews and on Lock Upp, maintaining that her past legal battle has often been misunderstood.

With Lock Upp continuing to generate headlines through intense confrontations, emotional disclosures and explosive accusations, the war of words between Gehana Vasisth and Shilpa Shinde is likely to add another chapter to one of reality television’s most closely watched controversies.

The allegations made by Gehana Vasisth are her personal claims. Shilpa Shinde has not responded to these specific allegations, and there is no independent verification of Gehana’s assertions beyond her public statements, which she asserts are based on instances and news reports in the public domain.
