New Delhi: Bollywood actress Simmy Antara Dixit has accused a Delhi-based event organiser of allegedly using his event management business as a front for an escort and casting couch racket. The actress claimed that aspiring female performers are allegedly offered attractive assignments before being pressured into providing sexual favours to clients.
The organiser, whom Simmy referred to only by the initials “MC”, is said to be based in Delhi’s Moti Nagar locality. According to the actress, the individual is involved in organising corporate events, wedding functions and private parties, but she alleges that the business conceals an illegal operation targeting actresses, models and dancers and using them for the flesh trade.
Simmy said her interaction with the organiser did not begin directly. Instead, she was contacted by one of his associates, who presented an offer to perform dance shows at premium corporate events. At first, the proposal appeared to be a routine professional engagement, and the payment being offered was considerably higher than what performers would normally expect for similar assignments.
Curious about the unusually generous remuneration, the actress continued the discussions. It was only later, she alleged, that the actual expectations associated with the assignment became clear.
According to Simmy, the organiser’s representative informed her that performing at the event alone would not be sufficient. She was allegedly told that she would also be expected to spend “quality time” with the client after the programme concluded. The actress said she immediately understood the phrase to be a coded reference to providing sexual services in exchange for money.
Rather than confronting the individuals immediately, Simmy claimed she chose to continue the interaction in order to expose what she believes is an organised racket operating under the guise of legitimate event management.
The actress alleged that she secretly recorded her conversations with the organiser’s team as part of a sting operation.
“I wanted to expose them instead of simply walking away,” Simmy claimed. She further alleged that the organiser openly boasted about having a network of more than 200 women working with him in Delhi. According to her, those statements, along with other conversations, have been captured on video.
She believes the recordings could provide evidence of the alleged modus operandi employed by the network.
The organiser accused by the actress has not publicly responded to the allegations. His identity has not been disclosed in this report because the allegations have not been tested before a court of law.
Simmy further alleged that what she experienced is not an isolated case involving a single organiser. She claimed that similar networks are active in several metropolitan cities across the country and often prey upon newcomers hoping to establish careers in the entertainment industry.
According to the actress, aspiring actors, influencers, dancers and fashion models are allegedly approached with promises of well-paid assignments at high-profile events. Once they agree to participate, they are allegedly informed that additional “expectations” are attached to the work, including demands to “compromise” with clients in return for substantial financial rewards.
The actress alleged that such proposals are often presented subtly rather than explicitly, making it difficult for inexperienced performers to recognise the true nature of the offer until they are already involved in the process.
She said the problem extends beyond Delhi and reflects what she believes is a wider pattern of exploitation within certain sections of the event and entertainment industry.
Calling for greater awareness, Simmy urged young performers to thoroughly verify the credentials of event organisers before accepting assignments. She also encouraged aspiring artists to report any suspicious approaches to the appropriate authorities instead of remaining silent.
The allegations have once again highlighted concerns about the exploitation of women seeking opportunities in the entertainment sector. However, the claims made by the actress remain allegations at this stage. No official investigation has been announced, and the accused organiser has not issued any public response to the accusations.
