Bangkok trauma: Delhi events organiser “MC” demanded ‘personal favors’, alleges Simmy Antara Dixit

MUMBAI: Bollywood and TV actress Simmy Antara Dixit has made serious allegations against a prominent Delhi-based event organiser, claiming that she was asked to exchange sexual favours in return for a prestigious professional opportunity despite successfully clearing the audition process. Her revelations also shed light on a disturbing overseas experience that she believes exposed her to a potentially dangerous criminal network operating under the guise of entertainment assignments.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with IndyaTv.IN, Simmy opened up about the darker side of the glamour industry, where, according to her, aspiring actors and models are often subjected to exploitation, coercion and unethical demands in exchange for work. She alleged that a well-known event organiser from Delhi attempted to pressure her into compromising with a client, suggesting that professional merit alone was not enough to secure a high-profile assignment.

According to Simmy, she had completed the audition successfully and believed she had earned the opportunity on the strength of her talent and performance. However, she claimed that the organiser later informed her that she would have to make personal compromises if she wanted to participate in the event. She firmly refused the alleged demand, choosing to walk away rather than sacrifice her dignity for professional gain.

The actress further narrated another unsettling episode that unfolded during a work trip to Bangkok, where she had travelled after being promised a legitimate international shoot. What initially appeared to be a promising overseas assignment soon turned into an ordeal that left her feeling trapped and vulnerable.

Simmy said she was invited abroad by individuals who presented themselves as casting professionals and event organisers. However, soon after arriving in Bangkok, she realized that the promises made to her before the trip did not match the reality on the ground.

According to her account, her passport was taken away shortly after she reached Bangkok, leaving her unable to move freely. She claimed she was kept under constant observation and was repeatedly pressured by a local contact to compromise with an influential individual. When she refused to comply with the alleged demands, she said she began facing harassment and intimidation.

The actress also alleged that she was denied the remuneration that had been promised to her for the assignment. Instead of the work she had originally agreed to perform, she claimed she was told to participate in additional shoots and activities that were never discussed before her departure from India. She refused to undertake any work that went beyond the terms she had originally accepted.

As the situation became increasingly uncomfortable, Simmy decided to cut short her stay and return to India at her own expense. She personally arranged her return flight and paid for her hotel accommodation, determined to leave the country without further delay.

However, according to her, the ordeal did not end there. Before her departure, the organisers allegedly insisted and threatened her to carry a bag back to India, claiming it contained expensive camera equipment that had been used during the shoot. The request immediately raised concerns in her mind regarding the contents of the bag.

Unsure about the situation, Simmy contacted her family and close friends in India, who advised her not to carry any baggage that did not belong to her personally. Trusting their instincts, she refused to take the bag despite repeated insistence and threats from those handling the assignment.

With the help of her family and a few trusted contacts, she eventually managed to recover her passport and safely return to India.

What happened afterwards, she said, made her realise how narrowly she may have escaped a far more serious situation. A few weeks after her return, news reports emerged that another model arriving at Mumbai airport from Bangkok had been arrested after authorities allegedly recovered narcotics worth approximately Rs 12 crore concealed inside her baggage.

Although Simmy has not claimed any direct connection between the two incidents, she recalled her own experience and said the sequence of events deeply disturbed her. Looking back, she believes that refusing to carry the unidentified bag may have saved her from unknowingly becoming involved in a criminal operation and legal action.

Reflecting on both incidents, Simmy also referred to the Delhi-based event organiser from Moti Nagar, identified by her as “MC”, whom she accused of allegedly pressuring her to compromise with a client in exchange for work and financial benefits. She maintained that she rejected the proposal despite the potential career opportunity it represented.

The actress said she decided to speak publicly about her experiences to create greater awareness among aspiring actors, models and performers who often travel for assignments after receiving attractive professional offers. She believes young artists should carefully verify the credentials of organisers, insist on clear contractual agreements, remain in regular contact with their families while travelling, and avoid carrying luggage or packages belonging to others under any circumstances.

Simmy’s account highlights concerns that have periodically surfaced within sections of the entertainment and modelling industry regarding exploitation, coercion and the misuse of professional opportunities.
